Billie Lou Hockett, 83, of Sweet Home, died July 14, 2013.
She was born May 8, 1930 in Salem to Jessie and Leona (Jones) Hart.
She married Franklin Harrison Cron in June of 1946. They had four children and later divorced.
She married William Hockett on July 31, 1962 in Carson City, Nev. They had two children together.
Mrs. Hockett was a Jehovah’s Witness, baptized August 16, 1968 in Medford. She attended in Sweet Home.
She loved gardening and flowers. She also loved horses and trained, boarded and sold them. She had a very distinct and infectious laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Hockett; children Mary Cosner of Gearheart, Leroy Cron of Springfield, Mo., Juanita Hall of Sweet Home, Bill Cron of Idaho, Lisa Fetters of Prescott, Ariz. and Ed Hockett of Sweet Home; brother Leon Hall of Sweet Home; sisters Carma Dean, of Ft. Mohave, Ariz., and Ginger; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one-great-great-grandchild; and an uncle, Bill Jones of Cottage Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Jean Foxe, Cora, and Katrina; and grandson Dirk Fetters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4714 Hwy 20, Sweet Home.
