Billie Virginia Weber, 83, died Saturday, July 6, 2013.
She was born Aug. 10, 1929 in Hartshorne, Okla. to Virgil and Verda (Basden) Riley.
She lived in southeast Oklahoma, in the Hartshorne and Antlers area, until 1943 and then in Oklahoma City until 1947.
She moved to Sweet Home with her family after her father got a job here. She met William L. Weber, a lifelong Sweet Home resident, and they married June 9, 1948 in Olympia, Wash.
After their marriage they lived until 1971 on 17th Avenue, near Elm Street, in a house Mr. Weber built. Then they built a new house at the Weber family farm on Pleasant Valley Road, where they lived until 2001 before moving to 3rd Avenue, where Mrs. Weber lived until 2010.
She then lived at Wiley Creek housing until 2012, when she moved to Portland area to be near her sons for better care.
Mrs. Weber was involved in multiple community activities, including the Chamber of Commerce, East Linn Museum, School Board and Fir Lawn Lutheran Church. She worked as secretary at the Sweet Home Junior High and High School, as a bookkeeper at Les Schwab; and then as a real estate broker until her retirement.
Mrs. Weber is survived by siblings Betty Feuerhelm, Dave Riley and Barbara Barber, all of Portland; sons Larry Weber and Michael Weber, both of Portland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Weber, on Nov. 28, 2004, and brother Bobby Riley.
