Georgia Elizabeth Walls

Nov. 9, 1921 – June 26, 2013

Georgia Elizabeth Walls, 91, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Mennonite Home.

She was born Nov. 9, 1921 in Deming, N.M., the daughter of George and Elsie Crotchett Maisal.

Georgia graduated from Stayton High School and later attended Northwest Christian College. She married Robert Walls in 1948 and they moved to Waterloo. In 1951 they moved to Anchor Point, Alaska where they homesteaded until relocating to Seward, Alaska, where Robert operated a logging business.

In 1959 they moved to Anchorage and lived there until returning to Oregon in 1980. They built a house that was heated by solar energy on a small acreage near Scio where they had cows, a U-pick strawberry business and a large garden.

Georgia later moved to Albany. She enjoyed spending time camping, hunting, and fishing. Georgia was a creative person. She made beautiful painted ceramic dishes. She was a proud grandma, and enjoyed attending her grandsons’ games and swimming lessons.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walls in 1991; parents, George and Elsie Maisal; a brother, Ike Maisal; and sisters, June Longfellow and Beulah Maisal. Survivors include a son, Mack Walls and his wife, Beth, of Albany; grandsons, Robbie Walls and Jackson Walls, both of Albany; and a sister, Elaine Marshall, of Albany.
