Norma Loree

May 18, 1934 – April 24, 2013

Norma I. Loree, 78, of Sweet Home died April 24, 2013.

She was born May 18, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lester and Lucille (Robertson) Ringgenberg.

After she and Edward Loree were married, they moved to California for a short time and then to Oregon. They moved often to follow work for Mr. Loree, but their heart was in the Willamette Valley/Sweet Home area. After their family was grown, they moved to Alaska for 10 years until Mrs. Loree had had enough, and they moved to Mill City.

The Lorees owned and operated a couple of restaurants. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Loree moved back to Sweet Home in 2012.

She enjoyed playing cards at the Elks, Senior Center and VFW. She loved garage sales. She was an outspoken woman but loved her family very much.

Mrs. Loree is survived by her children, Terry I. Loree of Albany, Wade N. and daughter-in-law Gilda Loree of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kevin E. and daughter-in-law Jan Loree of Keizer; sister Linda Knox of Aumsville; brothers Herald and Davis Ringgenberg, both of Redmond; Aunt Jean Davidson of Keizer; sister-in-laws Pete Loree of Sweet Home and Doris Morin of Lebanon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Loree; parents; and one granddaughter.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Sweet Home Assembly of God, 890 Mountain View Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the heart foundation, kidney foundation or a charity of one’s choice.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
