Shirley Vandehei, 79, of Sweet Home died April 9, 2013.
She was born March 31, 1934 in Lincoln, Neb. to Charlotte (Pace) Pederson.
In April of 1963 she moved to Oregon from Idaho for the Green Peter and Foster Dams construction and remained in Sweet Home. She participated in numerous community organizations and school functions and activities.
Mrs. Vandehei was the designated boat driver for family-and- friends waterskiing adventures. She enjoyed making quilts, sewing and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vandehei is survived by her husband, Frank Vandehei; son Ivan Vandehei; daughter Shirley Miller; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Vandehei Jr.; brother Ron Pederson; sister Francis Pederson; and her parents.
Funeral services were held April 16 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home, with a viewing at noon before the funeral and final burial at Gilliland Cemetery.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements
