John Marinus Bats, 91, of Sweet Home died Sept. 2, 2012 at Timberview Care Center in Albany.
He was born May 8, 1921 in The Netherlands to Pieter Tekke and Leentje (Bakker) Bats. He came to the United Sates with his family when he was 10 years old.
Mr. Bats served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1943, receiving an honorable discharge.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Bats and Henry Bats; daughter Rhiannon Bats; five grandchildren; sister Alice Turner; and brother Peter Bats.
Mr. Bats was preceded in death by his wives, Pat Bats and LaRee Bats; oldest son John Bats Jr.; and brother Henry Bats.
No services are planned. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
