February 15, 1977 – July 25, 2012
Matthew Layton Schilling of Albany passed away Wednesday unexpectedly. He was born in Lebanon to Don and Charlotte (Arms) Schilling.
He was Superintendent for Cascade Mechanical in Sweet Home.
Matthew was always so full of life and lived his life to the fullest for his family. His motto was always. “in the end all you ever have is family”. He selflessly worked hard to provide for his family. He also played hard to enjoy everything life had to offer, whether it was taking big family/friends trips to the Oregon Dunes, taking his son fishing, enjoying family time on his boat or his coveted Elk Hunting trips to Weneha with his father every year. He had a great sense of humor.
He was an awesome husband and super Daddy to his very young children, and cherished his every minute with them. Matthew has so many friends one could easily lose count. He had a way of letting each and every friend he had feel close to him and he let it be known that he would always be there in time of need. Matthew always had a way to lighten any room he entered. He was generous and caring. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
Matthew was a loving and protective Christian son. He was respected by all who knew him. He loved his children and wanted to make sure they knew Jesus.
The world has lost a very special person on this day and if you were fortunate enough to know him then you will always carry special thoughts and memories that he created and shared with all of us. We will always love and miss you, Matthew Layton Schilling.
Matthew is survived by his wife Elisha; son Carson Layton (4 years old); daughter Peyton Layne Schilling (1 year old on July 25, 2012) of Albany; parents Don and Charlotte Schilling of Sweet Home; sisters: Angela and her husband Dennis Watson of Albany, Laura Schilling and her husband Dusty Karr of Queen Creek, Arizona; nieces and nephews: Angelica and Alex Esparza, Hannah and Taylor Watson.
