Juliann Amundson, 80, of Sweet Home died July 24, 2012.
She was born May 10, 1932 in Brownsville to Adolph and Hazel (Conger) Kaleese.
She was raised in Brownsville. She married her one and only and they moved to Sweet Home. Together they raised four children, but had many in their care.
Mrs. Amundson was a stay-at-home mom, always involved with extended family gatherings and activities. She was a member of Riverside Christian Church until poor health kept her home.
She was a Wal-mart enthusiast. She enjoyed reading, and camping in earlier days with family and friends. She loved to water ski at Big Lake. She also loved playing the piano and accordion.
Mrs. Amundson is survived by a son, Gary and daughter-in-law Tammy Amundson of Turner; daughters Lona and son-in-law Bob Ikola of Sweet Home, and Leesa Johnson-Simpson of Albany; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was lovingly called “Granny” or “Aunt Julie” by most who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Amundson; daughter Leann Roth; sisters Adeline Watson and Lona Harrison; brother Keith Kaleese; parents Adolph and Hazel Kaleese; great-granddaughter KateLyne Dugan; son-in-law Todd Simpson and also many loved in-laws.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, at Riverside Christian Church. Final burial was at Gilliland Cemetery.
