Shirley Jean Whitton, 75, of Sweet Home died July 16, 2012.
She was born Sept. 5, 1936 in Portland to Harry and Frieda (Mostert) Scott.
She has lived in Sweet Home since 1947. She married Larry Dean Whitton on August 5, 1978 in Sweet Home.
Mrs. Whitton enjoyed sewing and cooking, playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by her sons, Louis Trent of Pendleton, Jeff Whitton of Elmira and Frank Whitton of Redmond; daughter Becky and son-in-law Kelly Sweeney of Portland; brothers Harold Scott of Lebanon and Larry Scott of Sweet Home; and many much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitton was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dean Whitton; son Cary Trent on June 29, 2012; and half siblings Dan, Buck and Irene Scott.
A combined graveside service for her and her son Cary was held July 20 at Gilliland Cemetery.
