Herbert William Anderson, 79, of Sweet Home died March 23, 2012.
He was born July 4, 1932 in Murphy, N.C. to Lee S. and Inez (Cook) Anderson.
He served in the United States Army for three years. He lived in Sweet Home for more than 40 years.
Mr. Anderson was a hard-working man. He worked for Pope and Talbot for many years and retired in 1976.
He loved to make birdhouses. He was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and go crabbing. He enjoyed gardening, his tractor and caring for his property. He took great care of his cows.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Sylvia; children Ray Anderson of Georgia, Larry Anderson of Georgia and Rita Anderson of Arkansas; stepchildren Julie Reynolds of Sweet Home, Sharon Minshull of Albany and Charlotte Whitesitte of California; brothers J.T. Anderson of Georgia and Edgar Anderson of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Anderson; parents and brother, Junior Anderson.
