Carol Johnston, 72, of Sweet Home died July 9, 2011.
She was born March 27, 1939 in Wheeling, W.V. to Paul and Virginia (Twyman) Wallace.
She was raised in Ohio and California and graduated from high school in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She met Roy Johnston in California and they married Jan. 17, 1959.
While Roy was in the United States Navy they lived in Texas.
In 1972, the Johnstons moved to Brownsville where Roy took the job of Sweet Home baseball coach.
Mrs. Johnston enjoyed cooking shows and flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Johnston of Sweet Home; son-in-law Raymond Lingenfelter of Sweet Home; siblings Judith McGill of Redmond, Connie Jensen of Notus, Idaho, Linda Koehne of Sweet Home, Ruth Deal of Albany, Mike Wallace of Blythe, Calif. and Sonny Wallace of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Johnston; and sisters Jeanette Crunk and Sharon Miller.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
