Rosalie Dannen, 74, of Halsey died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008 in Corvallis.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of John Samuel and Sina Lee (Miller) Mulburn.
She started her career by working as a nurse for Dr. Jack Hartman in Sweet Home.
She married Lyle Bennett Dannen on Nov. 10, 1961 in Sweet Home. After her marriage, she stayed home with her family until she began working for the U.S. Census Bureau in 1964, earning many awards until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 133. There she held many offices and was chairwoman of numerous committees, working her way to becoming department president.
She was active in the Linn County Historical Society and the Shedd Museum.
She loved teaching others about the things she loved, including pinochle, history and travel.
She is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Dannen; daughter, Susie Dannen-Lavoie; and parents, Samuel and Sina Lee Milburn.
Her family wanted to also acknowledge her dearest friends, who were like family, Barbara and Alton Rush, their family and grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday at the Halsey United Methodist Church.
