Nov. 29, 1963 – May 29, 2008
Judith Lynn Strom, 44, of Eugene died May 29 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Mrs. Strom taught in the Alternative Education classroom for the Sweet Home School District for eight years before being forced to retire due to illness.
She was a person who not only loved life and teaching, but also chose to battle her illness on her own terms. She continued to volunteer in the classroom as much as possible this year because the students were such an important part of her life.
She will certainly be missed by all the students whose lives she touched over the years as well as her two long-time teaching associates, Linda Holley and Debbie Jewell.
Mrs. Strom received her bachelor of arts degree in history in 1994 and master of arts in special education in 1998 from University of Oregon Graduate School of Education.
She is survived by her husband Steve, whom she married on Oct. 7, 1995; her mother, Ellie Cameron of Eugene; sons, Vincent Price of Eugene and Andrew Price of San Diego; twin daughters Meredith Price of Portland and Brittany Price of Eugene; stepson Dennis Strom of Springfield; and one grandson.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Beacon House, 90980 River Road, Junction City.
