Elizabeth Haber

Elizabeth “Liz” Anne Haber, 90, of Brownsville, died April 5, 2008 in Alaska. She was born Sept. 28, 1917 in Aliquippa, Pa., to Michael and Anne (Demko) Chismar.

She grew up in Aliquippa, moved to El Monte, Calif., in 1945, then to Brownsville in 1973. She was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Sweet Home. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, yoga, and church.

Mrs. Haber is survived by her son Charles (Chuck) Haber of Ninilchik, Alaska; sister Virginia Brenton of Brownsville; brother Eddie Chismar of Aliquippa, Pa.; six grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Haber, on Sept. 17, 1988 and her daughter, Charolette Anne Haber, on Sept. 26, 2005.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Finley Cemetery in Crawfordsville.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
