Vivian Weddle Long

Vivian Weddle Long, 101, died Jan. 12, 2007 in Roseburg.

She was born in Sweet Home, on July 9, 1905 to Albert and Daisy (McCoy) Weddle. She lived in Salem from 1946 until 2002, when she moved to Roseburg.

She was received into membership with the Order of the Eastern Star in Sweet Home in 1925 and was a member in good standing. She graduated from the Oregon School of Education in Monmouth and then taught in Sweet Home for several years.

Mrs. Long is survived by her son, Sylvan Long and his wife, Yvonne of Roseburg; daughter, Sharon Pedersen and her husband Al of Alexandria, Va.; daughter-in-law, Josephine Long of Salem; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a cousin, Lois Burnette Gray of Fresno, Calif.; niece and nephew, Libby and David Weddle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; son, Laurel; and grandson, Brad.

Services were held at the Belcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum on Jan. 16. Contributions may be given to either the Roseburg Hospice, P.O. Box 569, Roseburg, OR 97470 or to a charity of the donor’s choice in her memory. Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.
