Jean M. Tertrou, 59, of Sweet Home died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015.
He was born in Cuba to Georges “Pepo” and Gladys “Mema” (Marin) Tertrou.
When he was 6, he immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in California where he was able to attend school and later enlist in the Army.
Mr. Tertrou married Debra Freese on Dec. 21, 1998 in Woodinville, Wash. They moved to Sweet Home in 2008.
He was a heavy equipment operator until being injured many years ago.
He played the drums and enjoyed fishing, camping and just being outdoors. He also liked dressing up as “Santa” at Christmas.
Recently he had purchased a home where he was able to set up his garage “just the way he wanted.”
NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers were two of his favorite past times.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Tertrou of Sweet Home; daughter, Crystal Tertrou of Las Vegas; stepsons, Cody Duncan and Chad (Brandy) Duncan of Sweet Home; stepdaughter, Jamie Stokes of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
No services are planned at this time.
