Iris Lee Keenon, 68, of Sweet Home died Jan. 28, 2015.
She was born Oct. 5, 1946 in Olympia, Wash., the daughter of Arthur Edward Jr. and Elizabeth Mae (Patrick) Kelly.
She grew up in Oakridge and moved to Sweet Home when she was a sophomore, attending Sweet Home High School. She married Rodney Glen Keenon on April 19, 1964 in Butte, Mont.
Mrs. Keenon worked as a waitress at Pineway Golf Course for 15 years and at Pioneer Villa for five years.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, camping and fishing. In her younger years she sang in a band. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends and her pets.
Mrs. Keenon is survived by two sons, Kenneth and daughter-in-law Sheila, and Kelly and daughter-in-law Angie, both of Sweet Home; a sister, Truda Smith Crouse; brothers- and sisters-in-law Linda Keenon, Leonard and Cheryl Keenon, Diane Grant, Dick and Carilyn Berg, and Duane and Sharon Keenon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Glen Keenon; father- and mother-in-law Kenneth and Mildred Keenon; sisters Elizabeth Taylor and Anne Graham; brothers-in-law Rich and Larry Keenon.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project in Mrs. Keenon’s memory.
