Sheridan Arnold

Jan. 11, 1918 – Jan. 20, 2015

Sheridan P. Arnold, 97, of Sweet Home died Jan. 20, 2015 at Wiley Creek Assisted Living with his loving wife Peggy and son Roger at his side.

He was born Jan. 11, 1918 to Harry and Jane Arnold in Berthold, N.D.

Mr. Arnold’s family moved to Sweet Home in 1938.

He served in World War II in the 1st Armored Division.

He was a half track driver in Africa, Italy and Anzio Beach.

After the war, he met Peggy Reed in 1945 and they married in Sweet Home in February of 1946.

Mr. Arnold worked for and retired from Santiam Plywood.

He loved to fish, hunt and play pinochle.

He was very active with his church. He dearly loved his family and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Arnold leaves behind his wife Peggy; son Roger Arnold of Sweet Home; daughter Sandy Arnold Spence, of Milwaukie; two granddaughters, both of Sweet Home; seven great-grandchildren; and two younger brothers, Charles and Ken Arnold.

Services for Mr. Arnold are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Sweet Home Christian Church, at 18th Avenue and Long Street.
