Doris “Gwen” Vanden Bos, 60, of Sweet Home died Aug. 25, 2014.
She was born Sept. 15, 1953 to John and Lois (Mullins) Harcrow, and raised in Sweet Home. Her family and close friends called her “Sis.”
In 1974 she married Andrew Alan Vanden Bos then moved to Lebanon where they raised their two sons. They moved back to Sweet Home in 2006.
Mrs. Vanden Bos worked at White’s Electronics from 1972 to 1979.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her sisters. She loved being pampered and enjoyed having facials and pedicures. One of her hobbies was watching old black-and-white movies.
Mrs. Vanden Bos is survived by her husband of 40 years, Andrew Vanden Bos of Sweet Home; sons Seth and daughter-in-law Joy Vanden Bos of Lebanon and Brent Vanden Bos and his fiancé Elizabeth Oswald of Lebanon; siblings Earl and sister-in-law Elaine Harcrow of Sweet Home, Patti Vandiver of Vancouver, Wash, Betty Webb of Sweet Home, Glenda (Dee) and brother-in-law Mike Melcher of Sweet Home; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and care provider Tonya Tagen.
A graveside service was held Aug. 29 at the IOOF Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the MS Foundation of Oregon. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
