Linda Kay Southerland, 67, of Fairview, N.D., formerly of Sweet Home, died May 1, 2014.
She was born Jan. 10, 1947 in Little Rock, Ark. to Louis and Mildred (Patterson) Southerland.
She and her family moved from Arkansas to California when she was a child. She lived in Oregon from 1993 to 2014, recently moving to North Dakota.
Mrs. Southerland worked as a waitress until her later years, when she moved to running the register.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Kennedy of Sweet Home; son Sam Piazza and brother Louis Wayne Southerland, both of the Bay Area; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild expected soon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Smith in 2004; daughter Nancy O’Bryan in 2007; and grandson Jeremy Kennedy in 2002.
A graveside service was held May 17 at Gilliland Cemetery.
