Vernon Blair Geil, 93, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.
He was born Nov. 22, 1919 in Prineville to Joseph A. and Lilly (Rowell) Geil.
He was survived by six children: Joe and Joyce Geil, Joy and Fred Honeywell, Michael and Grace Geil, Starla and Paul Walker, Martha and Steve Morrill, Mary Swope; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Pappin) Geil; and son-in-law Rev. Bob R. Swope.
Memorial contributions may be made in their names to the Sweet Home Mennonite Church, Sweet Home Assembly of God or Talking Book and Braille Services of Oregon.
A memorial service for Vernon and Mildred Geil, to celebrate their 75 years together, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church, 1266 44th Ave., Sweet Home, Oregon 97386.
