Feb. 18, 1943 – Oct. 12, 2013
The world lost its biggest English bulldog lover, John Cena his most avid fan, and a family its matriarch on Oct. 12.
Maureen Mero passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early dawn hours, just two days after her beloved bulldog Rufus. She was surrounded by her cherished Disney collection, decades in the making.
Sharing her happy spirit, Maureen left an impression on all she met, including garage sale patrons, fellow parishioners and passersby.
She leaves behind fiancé Frank Gates; son John May and daughter-in-law Sandy Rothig; grandchildren Matthew and Caitlyn; and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held Tuesday morning, Oct. 15, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
