Charley Arthur Brown, 83, of Crawfordsville died June 13, 2012.
He was born March 10, 1929 in Toledo to Jess and Beatrice (Burgland) Brown.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a seaman 2nd class and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Mr. Brown married Louise DeBord Hammersly on June 6, 1960.
He loved to hunt, fish and watch NASCAR on TV. He was a gifted woodworker, making small toys, boxes and yard displays.
Mr. Brown is survived by a stepson, Tom Hammersly of Florida; sisters LaVera Anderson of Sweet Home, Judy Schmidt of Junction City and Jackie DeBord of Albany; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise DeBord Hammersly Brown in 1994, and his brother, Jess.
Funeral services were held June 19 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Vault interment will be at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro.
