Harold “Hal” John Doll, 71, of Sweet Home died April 26, 2012.
He was born April 2, 1941 in Kensington, Minn. to Joseph John and Nellie Ellen (Hale) Doll.
Hal grew up in Chokio, Minn. He moved to Colorado and then on to Oregon in 1962. He has lived in Sweet Home since 1969.
Mr. Doll served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961. He owned and helped operate the Waterhole Tavern for 26 years and was a partner in the Firepit Tavern for three years. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Mr. Doll is survived by his wife, Cheri Doll of Sweet Home; daughters Jeana Doll of Sweet Home and Brittany Warthen of Monmouth; son Cordell Doll of Coos Bay; sisters JoAnne Morrill of Grand Junction, Colo., Florence McLamb of Fayetteville, N.C.; stepdaughter Donna St. John-Brummett of Pahrump, Nev.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Doll in 1989, mother Nellie Doll in 2001; brother Arthur Doll in 2010; and step-son Kevin Stiles.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday May 5, 2012, at the VFW Hall in Sweet Home.
