John George Burke, 87, of Sweet Home died July 1, 2011.
He was born Nov. 1, 1923 in Fox, Alaska to John G. and Barbara (Herring) Burke.
He served in the Canadian Army in the Tank Corps during World War II. He moved to Sweet Home in 1993 and met Irene Brandt-Hipp; they were married Sept. 11, 1995.
Mr. Burke worked as a millwright in the construction trade.
