Community help keeps Meals going

Editor:

Our local Meals on Wheels program has had some great community support lately, and would like to make a public acknowledgment.

We are grateful for a $2,500 grant from SHEDG, which will be used as payment for meals in our local community. Also, thank you to the Skyline Inn Restaurant for their donations from their 31st anniversary fund-raiser, which included a percentage of their sales from that day and contributions from their staff that day. These funds also stay in our community and will be used to pay for meals. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I would also like to thank Spoleto’s Pizzaria for their donations from their “AOK” pizza fund-raiser, in which $5 is donated for each specialty pizza sold on behalf of that organization.

Also, our Pet Food Program (which consists of donations from Safe Haven Humane Society) is always in need of food grade buckets with lids. I would like to thank the Safeway Bakery and our local A&W restaurant for their donations of buckets, as sometimes our clients forget to return them.
