Editor:
I would like to thank this opportunity to thank each of you for voting for me during the Sweet Home School District election. I would also like to extend my thanks to everyone who took time to cast their ballot for whomever they voted for.
It is encouraging to know there are people who care and exercise their right to vote instead of sitting around complaining and not voting.
I still feel strongly the administration and School Board are not looking out for our kids or listening to the citizens’ concerns about how District 55 is being run but rather seeming to worry more about having money for pay and benefits packages.
One thing I know for certain is that fewer school days, blended classes, too many students per class does not give the teachers time to help the best students let alone those who are struggling.
I would certainly hope the administration and School Board from here on will try to truly look out for our kids and honestly listen to the citizens.
The vote is in, for better or worse. Better luck next time.
