Editor:
In case you have not driven past the East Linn Museum and noticed the “open” flag, we want the community to know that the museum is now open for visitors Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A small group of volunteers worked diligently through the January “vacation time” to repair the inside water damage from the roof leak of last spring and to get the woodworking display ready for viewing.
We have already had several out-of-town visitors. Their compliments on the museum are also a compliment on Sweet Home, which provides the volunteers who take care of the museum, and it is the current and former members of this community who provide the financial support that keeps it open.
As some of you already know, we find it necessary to replace the worn roof of the museum this coming spring. We have already received several contributions to a roof replacement fund and of course, welcome additional contributions. They may be dropped off at the museum or mailed to East Linn Museum, 746 Long St., Sweet Home, OR, 97386. Please identify those as “roofing fund” so that accurate records may be kept.
Thank you for your support for the museum.
