ELMS thanks community

Editor:

We are grateful for the participation of vendors, A&W Restaurant and the Chamber of Commerce in the East Linn Museum Christmas Bazaar.

Thank you also to those who shopped at the bazaar. Your support was appreciated.

The museum is not a privately held collection. It belongs to all of Sweet Home. Financial support is derived from memberships, donations and the annual bazaar and summer yard sale.

A quiet, dedicated group of volunteers maintains the buildings and grounds and keeps the doors open for visitors. These visitors have come from across the country and their comments attest to the value of the museum’s collection of artifacts.

The museum also has a large collection of photos and files of local history, all of which are resources for local historians and writers. It is worth noting that requests for information and photos also come from out of state, one even as far away as Australia.

We want Sweet Home to know how valuable our local museum is and that its continued care and operation is totally dependent upon the continued interest and support of this community.

If you would like to volunteer with the museum or wish to have more information about it, call 367-4580.
