No insult intended

Editor:

I’m happy to see that Mollie’s Bakery, a legend in our town, has reopened to serve our community. I wish them well.

My letter to the editor a couple of weeks ago was not meant to be an attack on the new owners, but a challenge to raise the standard for our children. I don’t know if the new owners or the sign painter are responsible for the lack of accuracy.

A friend had pointed out the sign error to me and challenged me to write to the editor and I took the bait. A couple of friends told me they were glad I did, and another misunderstood my intent and complained.

Tact has never been my strong point, so I apologize for any hurt feelings.

Again, my intent was to enlighten our knowledge of good grammar!
