Editor:
Thank you, Sweet Home, for supporting the Chamber of Commerce at the 69th annual Awards Banquet. I wanted to address a few issues that people many not be aware of.
Did you know this is the first year ever that we have had a female emcee? Gina Riley, you “Rocked it like a boss!” Gina was a welcome addition to the head table as she was poised and silly at the same time! We sincerely wanted everyone to have a great time and Gina really made that happen.
Did you know that all the food was donated or provided at cost? Umpqua Bank provides the coffee, cream and sugar. Karyn Hartsook-Farmers Insurance provided the bread as a donation. Safeway donated gift cards that were used to purchase soda. The Point Restaurant provided the food at cost, and paid for the crew’s labor.
That crew worked hard, and next time you stop by The Point, please make certain you give them kudos! The Point crew has done this now for three years at great expense. The work involved in such an endeavor is enormous.
We need to be grateful we have such dedicated Sweet Home workers!
Every year the tables and chairs are picked up and delivered by Cascade Timber Consulting on Friday, and then picked back up and given a ride to their homes when it is all over.
The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Banquet Committee would like to sincerely thank these organizations for their contributions to this amazing night.
Thank you to all those who made this evening a success, that means all of you!
