Editor:
I would like to thank the Sweet Home Police Department and the people of Sweet Home for their help in assisting me locate my daughter.
On the evening of Sunday, April 23, my family was at my mother’s house on Meadow Lark Lane having a barbecue. Our family was getting ready to take a family picture when I noticed that my 3-year-old daughter was missing. She was only out of my sight for a few moments, but it was a moment too long.
My family immediately began to look for her, but no one could find her. We called the Police Department and they quickly responded with all of the on-duty officers. They even had several off-duty officers and deputies that came to the area and helped search for her. Also without any of us having to ask, the local Neighborhood Watch started to help us comb the area.
In less than 15 minutes there were several police officers and at least 50 citizens helping us look for her. After a short time we had located her hiding in a bush near my mother’s house.
It was an impressive and well-appreciated response during our moment of need. The people of our community came together in an instant to help us out, many of them not even knowing who we were. It gives me a great deal of comfort to know that we live in a town that has an exceptional police department and a Neighborhood Watch that is willing to help its neighbor. Our family offers all of you its thanks in helping us find Kalli. Thank you.
