The Sweet Home Senior American team, ages 13-14, shut out West Albany 16-0 July 2 on the high school varsity field. Coach Tim Holly said the team went on to beat Crescent Valley 22-4 Monday evening, securing a second-seed finish in the district. The team led the south league with a record of 15-1 and finished the season 27-3 overall. Undefeated Stayton leads the north league and the district and will be first seed in the district playoffs tournament, which will be held in Sweet Home Friday and Saturday.
