Briana Hoffman throws a perfect game

Sophomore pitcher Brianna Hoffman threw a five-inning perfect game as the Huskies shutout the Sisters Outlaws 18-0 under the 10-run rule at home.

Hoffman gave up no runs, hits or walks. She struck out 10 Outlaws. The team had no errors.

Emily Marchbanks threw the last perfect game in softball against La Pine on May 1, 2014. Last week, Danny Virtue pitched the first perfect baseball game in at least 26 years.

The Huskies dominated the game out of the gate, scoring five runs in the first inning, two more in the second, four in the third and seven in the fourth.

Hitting came from all over the lineup. Marissa Kurtz went 3-4 to lead the Huskies at the plate. She knocked in three runners. She had one run.

Tripling were Ally Tow, 2-4, with two RBIs and two runs; Makena Melbye, 2-4, with one RBI and two runs; and Britney Zook, 2-4, with two RBIs and three runs.

Hitting doubles were Madi Barringer, 2-4 with two RBIs and a run; Zook; and Kylie Armstrongg, 2-2 with an RBI and two runs.

Sunhee Bitter went 1-5 with an RBI and a run. Sarita Zanona went 1-2 and walked twice, with one RBI and four runs. Hoffman went 1-2 and walked once, with an RBI and two runs.

The game was the first league win for the Huskies, who are 1-1 in league and 6-5 overall.
