Dakotah Keys will compete this week in the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene.
Keys, a sophomore, won the Pac-12 decathlon title by three points with a timely PR in the final event of the 10-part competition, the 1500, to break 8000 points for the first time in his career, finishing with 8001.
Johannes Hock of Texas, a freshman from Germany, is the leader going into the championships with 8293 points. Keys is fourth-seeded in a field of 24. Decathlon events start at noon Wednesday. June 5 and continue at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6.

Corban’s Olivia Johnson finished 15th overall in a field of 43 runners in the NAIA National Championships marathon competition May 25 in Marion, Ind.
Her finishing time was 3:12:25.80.
Johnson’s performance was a program-best, as she became the first-ever Warrior to run in the marathon at the national championships.
The winner of the event was senior Monika Kalicinska of St. Gregory’s, who finished in 2:50:52.70.

At the NCAA Division II national championships May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo., redshirt freshman Maria Kropf qualified in the 100 hurdles and ran 13.93, a PR by two-hundredths of a second, but finished fifth in her heat and did not advance to the final, which was won by Vashti Thomas of Academy of Art, in 12.70.
Sparked by big points from a strong sprint corps, San Francisco-based Academy of Art, a newcomer to Division II, won the women’s title.

Freshman Annie Whitfield competed for Oregon at the NCAA Division I West Preliminary at Austin, Texas, May 23-25, finishing 42nd, with a throw of 132-2.
