SH loses in 11 innings to Gladstone baseball team

The Huskies lost 8-5 to Gladstone on the road in 11 innings following a seventh-inning rally to take the lead Monday afternoon.

Gladstone took a 4-0 lead in the first. After five scoreless innings, the Huskies took a 5-0 lead in the top of the seventh. Gladstone scored one in the bottom to tie the game and then scored three in the 11th to win.

At bat, Jeremy White went 1-5; Hunter Bidwell, Kyle Winslow and Drayson Scott went 2-5; and Austin Rice and Nate Melcher went 1-4. Scoring runs were Bidwell, Scott, Rice, J.T. Weld and Melcher.

Rice led stealing with three stolen bases, while Scott, Weld and Melcher each stole a base.

White pitched four innings, giving up two hits, striking out one and walking no one.

Rice pitched five innings, giving up two hits, walking one and striking out one.

Scott pitched one inning, giving up two hits, walking three and striking out one. Kory Van Deusen pitched a partial inning, giving up a hit and walking one. Cory Hanks pitched an inning, giving up one hit, walking three and striking out one.
