The Sweet Home High School Forestry Club finished second out of five teams Saturday, March 10, at its own “All Skills” Competition Day Saturday, March 10.
Kristen Tolle was all-around Jill and Technical Forester. Other standouts for Sweet Home were EJ Nichol, Justin Wolfe, Tim Shehan, Macy Cockrell, Cody Froman and Sequia Stroup, all of whom placed first in at least one event.
Knappa was the overall team winner, followed by the Huskies, Philomath, Sabin and Scio.
“The kids did a great job competing and representing Sweet Home in a positive way,” said club advisor Dustin Nichol. “I would like to thank all of the people that volunteered to make this event happen. I would also like to thank the businesses that have donated this year to the club: Cascade Timber, Weyerhaeuser Foster, Burke Logging, McCollum Logging, Rice Logging, Wodtli Rock Pit, WPK, Oregon Natural Resources Education Fund and Cedar Shack.”
