Naomi Gunselman and Zac Pearce, both individual state swimming champions for Sweet Home this year, were named Outstanding Swimmer for the girls and boys swim teams at their awards dessert Thursday, Feb. 23.
Freshman Ryan Yon was named Underclassman of the Year for the boys, while freshman McKenzie Curtis received the girls team award.
Emily Thompson and Justin Hilburn were named Most Improved.
Winners of Perfect Attendance Awards, which went to swimmers who never missed a practice, were Hilburn, Pearce and Jake Johnson for the boys, and Gunselman, Thompson, Kimber Swanson and Paige Sanders for the girls.
Team captains for the girls were Gunselman and Swanson; boys while captain’s pins went to Pearce, Don Rockstead and Gravy Gunselman.
Four-year letter winners for the boys were Pearce, Bryce Roberts and Cory Martin. Katie Turner was the girls’ only four-year letter winner.
Three-year letter winners for the girls were Naomi Gunselman, Sanders, Swanson , Thompson and Emily Claborn. For the boys, Johnson, Rockstead, Gravy Gunselman and Victor Stupin all received three-year letters.
Second-year letters for the boys went to Hilburn, Zane Jackson, Elric Benson, Zach Pratt and Sten Weld.
Curtis and Shiho Harada received first-year letters for the girls. Yon, Dema Gourley and Josh Wooley lettered for the first time for the boys.
Junior varsity certificates went to Anna Chang and Anastasiya Domchenko.
