Cottage Grove 79,
Sweet Home 66
The Huskies lost 79-66 to Cottage Grove in boys basketball at home on Jan. 17.
“We dug ourselves a hole in the first half that we weren’t able to climb out of,” said Coach Kostanty Knurowski. “Our shooting in the first half was absolutely atrocious.
“We played pretty well in the second half by scoring 50 points.
“We were able to force 20 turnovers and converted quite a few of those turnovers into quick scores.
“Grant Kauffman had a great fourth quarter, scoring 15 points in the final period, and his teammates did a nice job of creating scoring opportunities for him and getting him the basketball.”
The Huskies trailed 16-9 after one quarter and 43-16 at halftime.
They cut the deficit to 62-38 in the third and outscored Cottage Grove 28-18 in the fourth.
