Girls lose league opener

Sisters 86, Sweet Home 35

The Huskies lost 86-35 to Sisters on the road Friday night in their league opener.

“We got off to a slow start on the boards,” said Coach Robby Robinson. “We’re getting outworked on the offensive and defensive boards.”

The Outlaws led 20-2 after the first quarter and 42-9 at halftime.

Things started clicking for the Huskies in the third quarter, and they outscored Sisters 20-18.

The Huskies moved the ball better and got some scoring from the wings, Robinson said.

Robinson was out for the game after being suspended during a previous game at Cascade, he said, so he didn’t get a look at how things went.

“The Philomath coach emailed me and said she was so impressed our girls kept playing hard the whole way through,” Robinson said.
