Four Bully Gang members will fight at Capital City Cage Fights at 7 p.m. on June 21 at the Salem Armory.
Nathan Rice, 4-0, will fight for the heavyweight title. He will face Cody Smith, 6-0, of the Desert Dogs of Bend. Rice is the Brass Knuckles heavyweight champion.
Also fighting are Trevor Tagle, 2-0, at 155 pounds; Brad Seiber, 1-0, at 220 pounds; and Brad Furst, 0-0, at 160 pounds.
“I think I’m going to probably just stick with what I’m used to, stick to my roots, the wrestling thing,” Rice said. He noted that his opponent is 6-0, “so he knows what he’s doing.”
Tagle has been working on his conditioning, something that affected his last fight, he said. “I’ve been hitting the bags a lot and working on my boxing.”
Seiber is “pretty excited,” he said. His first fight went 23 seconds when he choked out his opponent in Corvallis.
He also has been working on his boxing, he said, and his wrestling is solid. He’s ready to go to the ground or “stand up if that’s the way it’s coming.”
“I know a lot of people that’s done it,” Furst said of joining the Bully Gang. “And I think I’ve got the mindset for it and the heart.”
