Struggling with depleted unumbers, the girls soccer team lost at Western Mennonite in Salem 7-0 on Monday.
The game was “not bad for playing nine on 11,” Coach Eric Markell said. “It was 3-0 at halftime, and (Western Mennonite) never let up. And our girls never gave up.”
Running with nine players meant forwards would be frustrated by up to three or four defenders when they got the ball, Markell said.
