Veteran Husky swimming coach Doug Peargin has been named 2001 Northwest Section Coach of the Year for the sport of girls swimming and diving.
Peargin was notified recently of the honor. The Northwest Section includes teams in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
The NFCA is the official national coaches association of the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Peargin earned the award in 1992 and humbly called it, “A good deal.”
