Carolyn Jean Wheeler
December 13, 1941 – April 17, 2024
Carolyn Jean Wheeler, 82, of Crawfordsville peacefully passed away.
She was born in Akron, Colorado to Walter Leroy and Helen Irene (Johnson) Ross.
The Ross family moved to Oregon in 1945 while working at the Spring Drive Inn, she met Guy Wheeler in 1963 and they were married in 1964.
When the three Wheeler kids were old enough to be in school, Carolyn started working for the Sweet Home School District, retiring in 2004 as an administrative assistant at the high school.
Her hobbies included ceramics, flower and vegetable gardening, genealogy, reading and working Soduku puzzles.
She was a dedicated blood donor, recently receiving her 24 gallon pin. Her and her husband, Guy, also enjoyed being campground hosts at the Oregon Jamboree and made lifelong friends there.
After retirement, Guy and Carolyn began to spend winters in Arizona. They enjoyed trips to the desert in their Jeep and socializing with new friends they had met in their travels.
Carolyn is survived by her children; Debbie (Tom) Yeack, Brad (Ely) Wheeler, Angela (Steve) Krause; grandsons: Cory (Jennifer) Yeack, Kyle (Brandy) Yeack, and Taylor Fink; granddaughter, Elisa (Thomas) Avants; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald (Jan) Wheeler; sister-in-law, Deanne Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; father and mother; brothers Jack and Leroy; sister Darlene (Shain) Thompson.
Memorial services will be 2 pm, May 19, 2024 at Community Chapel, 42250 Ames Creek Rd, Sweet Home.
