Jeannine M. Carson Mays

Jeannine Carson Mays, a former resident of Sweet Home, passed away on May 30th, 2024, in Yuma, AZ. She was 91.
Graveside services will be held at Gilliland Cemetery, in Sweet Home, on Thursday, July 11, at 11:30 am with a reception to follow at St Helen Catholic Church, also in Sweet Home.
Jeannine was born to David and Charlotte Carson, in Wisconsin. Her family moved to Oregon, living briefly in a few cities before finding home in Sweet Home. This is where she met the love of her life, Archie Mays. They married February 20, 1952, and lived in Sweet Home most of their adult lives. In 1995, Jeannine and Archie retired to Crooked River Ranch, spending winters in the warm weather of Yuma, Arizona.
Jeannine worked at Economy Drugs in the Radio Shack Department for most of her working years. She enjoyed family, playing golf, socializing, reading, and being a snowbird in Yuma, Arizona. Jeannine’s good humor and generous spirit touched everyone she met, and she never let life’s challenges hold her back.
Jeannine is survived by her daughter, Suzanne; son, Brian and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Dakoda and Carson; her sister, Jenny and brother, Mike.
Jeannine’s family ask that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others during her life, as she will be greatly missed and always loved.
