Bob Waibel took first place in “The World’s First Loggers Pentathlon” held in Brownsville. Waibel, who coordinated the event, was timed at 1:35.5 minutes in the five events – log shop, axe throw, choker setting, obstacle pole and hand bucking. Two hours of jackpot axe throwing, in which spectators participated, climaxed the show which was viewed by those attending the Sweet Home Elks picnic and others in Brownsville Pioneer Park.
