A Sweet Home woman was killed Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, in a head-on crash just south of Crawfordsville.
Oregon State Police reported that troopers responded at 7:52 a.m. to the two-vehicle crash on Highway 228, near milepost 10.
According to OSP, a preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Natosha Lynn Wells, 40, of Albany, crossed the centerline and struck a westbound Chevrolet Trax, operated by Kylie Rae Campbell, 37, of Sweet Home, head-on.
The operator of the Trax , Campbell, was declared deceased at the scene.
Wells, who was driving the Silverado, suffered reportedly minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The highway was impacted for approximately three hours during the on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation, OSP said.
OSP was assisted at the scene by ODOT.
