March 2

3:58 a.m. – Lanie Nicolle Dneton arrested by Coos Bay police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in hit and run case. Cited to appear March 26. 

4:00 a.m. – Rondel Allen Adams arrested by Albany police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear in multiple criminal driving cases. Cited to appear March 26. 

9:39 a.m. – Michael Evan Matthews, 39, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in criminal trespass case. Cited and released.  Sweet Home Police Station, 1950 Main St. 

10:49 a.m. – Caller reported what he believed to be slander in some social media posts about him. He was advised that this would be a civil issue. 40100 block Mountain Home Dr. 

11:21 a.m. – Ember Ann McAlpine, 41, arrested by Albany police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in theft case. Cited to appear March 26. 

11:28 a.m. – Shawn Stanley Pruitt, 52, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply in criminal driving case. Cited and released. 1200 block Long St. 

11:50 a.m. – Caller reported door on Wells Fargo ATM broken in 500 block Main St. Wells Fargo to send out maintenance worker to fix problem. Door secured as much as possible. 

2:45 p.m. – Damian Scott Lindemann, 28, of Yreka, Calif., cited for driving without insurance, 900 block N. Main St., Brownsville. 

4:03 p.m. – K. Steele, 39, of Harrisburg, cited for failure to renew vehicle registration. 1200 block W. 2nd St., Halsey. 

4:46 p.m. – Caller reported two young males driving side by side ATV in area of Long St./18th Ave., being reckless and stopping traffic in intersections. Officer responded, contacted driver who was counseled on his actions. State he would not do so again. 

5:15 p.m. – Dennis James Garner, 54, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in theft case.  Cited to appear March 26. 

6:25 p.m. – Fraud reported in 40300 block Oak Loop. According to LCSO, this was a reported fraud of a family member being defrauded by a caregiver. Deputies investigated and determined this was not occurring and the family member willingly paid for food for them and their friends.

7:44 p.m. – Citizen reported car stolen at Safeway, 1540 Main St. Complainant had purchased black and green 1996 or 1997 Toyota Camry with front-end damage from a roommate, but ownership hadn’t been formally transferred. Complainant had lost the key about a month prior, so the ignition had been drilled out. The theft happened while the complainant was inside Safeway camera coverage is unavailable. Report taken for second-degree theft.

11:49 p.m. – Tara Sue Wilber arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in theft of services case. Cited and released. 1100 block 2nd Ave. 

March 1

1:04 a.m. – Bradley Allen Bowman, 29, arrested by Albany police  on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in theft case. Cited to appear March 26. 

7:25 a.m. – Justin Neal-Gage Miller, 26, of Albany, cited for speeding, 46/30, 26900 block Gap Rd., Brownsville. 

8:28 a.m. – Mariza Yaret Herrera, 50, of Sweet Home, cited for speeding, 53/35. 200 block E. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

2:17 p.m. – G. McClatchey, 25, of Eugene, cited for driving uninsured, 000 block E. H St. , Halsey. 

3:27 p.m. – Annetta Catherine Kellogg arrested for first-degree theft after caller reported that female “trashed” funeral and stole her niece’s urn with ashes from celebration of life at harvest Christian Center, 4200 block Long St.  According to police, Kellogg was tracked down with assistance from Lebanon police and urn was recovered, returned to owner. Kellogg cited and released. 

4:19 p.m. – K. Lawhon, 21, of Brownsville, cited for driving uninsured, Blue Heron St./Egret Ave., Halsey. 

5:46 p.m. – Caller reported vehicle struck pedestrian in 1500 block Main St. According to police,  maroon or dark red Toyota 4Runner was seen reversing quickly out of a parking spot, almost hitting a pedestrian, who tapped on the vehicle to alert the driver. The driver, described as a woman in her 40s with dirty blonde hair, then sped off, striking a Safeway employee who was pushing carts. The employee had visible bruising but declined medical transport. Investigators are following up on a canceled pickup order that may be linked to the suspect. Report taken for hit and run-injury.  

8:04 p.m. – Tammy Reta, 43, arrested for hit and run-injury following investigation into incident that occurred at 9:29 p.m. on Feb. 28 (see below).  Officers located Reta via license plate and she admitted to being the driver in earlier incident. Cited and released with a court date at Police Station, 1950 Main St. 

8:41 p.m. – Scott Kevin Heinz, 37, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants in  harassment and failure to comply in criminal driving cases. Also arrested on Linn County Circuit Court bench warrants for failure to appear in DUII, reckless driving, criminal mischief , criminal driving and unlawful possession of controlled substance cases. Lodged at Linn County Jail. Hwy. 228 and Valley View. 

Feb. 28

2:25 a.m. – Justin Lee Walker, 37, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear in criminal trespass and public indecency cases. Cited and released. 14th Ave./Kalmia St. 

4:28 a.m. – Officer on patrol spotted graffiti on Cornerstone Fellowship church in 1200 block Long St. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief. 

5:40 a.m. – Susan Marie Ausbun-Miller, 50, arrested by Hillsboro police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in criminal mischief case. Cited to appear March 26. 

9:35 a.m. – Vance Eugene Marshall. 42, arrested by Springfield police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply in criminal mischief case. Cited to appear March 26. 

9:43 a.m. – Stefani Michelle Brock, 34, of Crawfordsville, cited for speeding, 45/30, Washburun St./Worley Ave., Brownsville. 

9:47 a.m. – Daniel Robert J. Diaz DeLeon, 22, arrested on Linn County Circuit Court warrant for probation violation in unlawful use of weapon case, 800 block Dogwood St. Lodged at Linn County Jail. 

11:01 a.m. – Jake White, 27, cited for speeding, 74/25, 1400 block 1st Ave. 

11:52 a.m. – Caller reported theft of  tax documents. The complainant had given tax paperwork to a local business in 2022, which later relocated to Ridgefield, Wash. She hadn’t received all her documents back, but after contacting the business owner, investigators concluded it may have been more of a misunderstanding rather than a criminal matter, police said. Report initially taken for second-degree theft. 

11:57 a.m. – Steven Lee Ballweber, 35, arrested by Linn County Sheriff’s Officer on Sweet home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply in failure to comply in failure to perform duties of a driver case. Cited to appear March 26. 

2:26 p.m. – Caller reported truck hit fence in 3100 block Main St., then left location. Officer responded. Report taken for hit and run. 

2:57 p.m. – J. Chapman-Sanchez, 26, of Eugene, cited for driving while suspended, 700 block Bishop Way, Brownsville.  

4:00 p.m. – R. Fries, 62, of Brownsville, cited for using cell phone while driving, 100 block N. Main St., Brownsville. 

4:52 p.m. – Chris Zohair Dallo, 49, of Eugene, cited for speeding, 55/35, 200 block E. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

5:44 p.m. – Launa Michelle Periman, 51, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in criminal trespass case after she turned herself in at Police Station, 1950 Main St. Cited and released. 

9:29 p.m. – Caller reported pedestrian struck by vehicle, which then left scene in 1200 block Main St. According to police, victim Barbara Kapicka was crossing Main Street outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by a white Nissan Sentra. Witnesses reported that the driver and passengers initially stopped to assist before leaving the scene. A license plate was recorded. Kapicka refused transport by medics. Report taken for hit and run-injury. 

10:10 p.m. – Rylee Jean Watts, 20, arrested on Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear in unauthorized use of motor vehicle case.  Also cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured. Cited and released. Vehicle parked. 1100 block Main St.

Feb. 27

7:55 a.m. – Jeryl Detwiler, 59, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 50/35, Main St./Depot Ave., Brownsville. 

8:50 a.m. – Owen Mosburg, 68, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 51/35, 900 block N. Main St., Brownsville. 

9:47 a.m. – Thomas Hernandez, 44, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 50/35, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

9:58 a.m. – Laura Meckle, 68, of Brownsville, cited for speeding, 53/35, Main St./Hausman Ave. 

10:17 a.m. – Corey Burgess, 39, of Albany, cited for speeding, 57/35, 900 block N. Main St. 

11:16 a.m. – Chaz Lindsey, 19, of Brownsville, cited for not wearing seatbelt, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

11:50 a.m. – Maria Mozqueda, 43, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 50/35, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

1:03 p.m. – Anthony Pool Lara, 40, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 53/35, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

1:06 p.m. – Robert Jaques, 43, of Foster, arrested on statewide felony warrant for unauthorized use of motor vehicle; also charged with possession of methamphetamine. 27100 block High Deck Rd.  Transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken.

1:24 p.m. – Richard Shirley, 60, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 52/35, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

1:49 p.m. – Sherry Banham, 48, of Brownsville, cited for speeding, 49/35, Main St./Hausman Ave., Brownsville. 

2:19 p.m. – Caller reported she received phone call from male identifying himself as a paramedic and stating that caller’s daughter was with him. Caller could hear “upset” female in background. 

According to police, the caller was told by the “paramedic” that her daughter had witnessed a drug deal and was going to be kidnapped unless a ransom was paid. Caller checked with her daughter and realized it was a scam. The number used in the call did not return any useful leads.

3:04 p.m. – Caller reported fraud in 43500 block Wiley Creek Dr. According to LCSO, victim was defrauded by a supposed Umpqua Bank Fraud Department representative named “Roger Woods.” Victim wire transferred approximately $44,000 to a “Choice Financial Group.” Victim was told to not tell anyone about this. LCSO warns: “These are huge reg flags we hope everyone can talk to their family so they are aware.These scammers prey on the older generation who are not as familiar with news and technology trends.” Investigation ongoing. Report taken.  

3:57 p.m. – Cynthia Newsom, 62, of Sweet Home, arrested on Whiskey Butte Dr. near Hwy. 20 for outstanding warrants. Report taken. 

4:13 p.m. – Caller reported juvenile on Oak Heights School playground with knife. Officer responded, contacted juveniles, who were counseled for their behavior. Guardians advised. 

6:28 p.m. – Caller reported her daughter was bitten by dog as she walked home from school, 1100 block 4th Ave. Officer responded, caller declined medics and said family would transport daughter to hospital. Officer to attempt to locate dog’s owner. Investigation continuing. 

7:03 p.m. – Michael Anthony Bly, 52, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply in criminal trespass case after Bly turned himself in at Police Station, 1950 Main St. Cited and released. 

8:11 p.m. – Multiple callers reported aerial fireworks explosions in 1100 block 1st Ave. Officer responded but was unable to locate origin of fireworks. 

10:11 p.m. – Deputy spotted suspicious vehicle at Shea Point rest area, 6300 block Hwy. 20. Discovered two juveniles eating ice cream. 

11:36 p.m. – Michelle Ray, 34, of Sweet Home, arrested on two outstanding warrants, 43000 block North River Dr.  Report taken. 

Feb. 26

7:50 a.m. – Caller reported generator stolen from 1200 block 44th Ave. Officer responded. Report taken for second-degree theft. Approximate value $800. 

11:31 a.m. – Sara Kay King, 33, arrested at Sweet Home Police Station, 1950 Main St., on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation in driving while suspended case. Cited and released. 

11:32 a.m. – Austin Todd Davis, 21, arrested at Sweet Home Municipal Court, 1950 Main St., after Blake allegedly created disturbance in courtroom and Judge Larry Blake requested assistance and ordered Davis’ immediate arrest for contempt of court. Lodged at Linn County Jail. 

12:35 p.m. – Sheri Yvonne Bower, 52, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass outside Cornerstone Fellowship church, 1200 block Long St., after caller reported that Bower had returned to location from which she had been trespassed. Bower excluded from downtown area. Cited and released due to amount of items she had with her. 

12:53 p.m. – Caller reported she was scammed by someone who called her on the phone. According to police, resident reported losing $500 in a scam in which caller posed as the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, claiming she had a warrant. Victim was instructed to buy Bitcoin to clear it. According to police, scams like this are common, and once funds are transferred via cryptocurrency, they’re nearly impossible to recover. Officer responded, report taken for second-degree theft. 

1:24 p.m. – Caller reported suspected scam attempt. Original phone call involved a female sobbing asking for help for 10-15 seconds before the call was dropped. The reporting person called back and a male answered the phone. The reporting person hung up. Deputies investigated the incident and learned there have been several similar calls in the Corvallis area. Deputies called the number and a male answered but quick;y hung up on them.Caller not out any money. 25100 block McClun Rd. 

1:53 p.m. – Caller reported her vehicle was hit at Dollar Tree, 2400 block Main St. Officer responded, information noted. 

2:25 p.m. – Vanessa Rieken, 41, of Marcola, cited for driving while suspended, 200 block W. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

2:29 p.m. – Caller reported that juvenile at Sweet Home Junior High, 800 block 22nd Ave., threatened another student with a tactical pen. Item seized by school staff. Victim’s parents did not want to pursue charges. 

3:15 p.m. – Fawn Marie Burleson, 40, arrested by Linn County Sheriff’s Office on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in fraudulent use of credit card case. Cited to appear March 26. 

Feb. 25

12:32 a.m. – Kylor Hartman cited for driving while suspended, failure to carry proof of insurance, 1800 block Ulex St., after caller reported male going to houses in the area. Hartman told officer he was looking for family member’s house. 

7:22 a.m. – Sheri Yvonne Bower, 52, arrested for offensive littering after caller reported individual sleeping at Ames Creek Storage, 800 block Main St. Cited and released. Bower also excluded from Northside Park in response to similar complaint. 

8:41 a.m. – Caller reported someone broke the rear window on his vehicle in 400 block Ironwood. Officer responded, determined that damage appeared to be weather-related. 

9:41 a.m. – Caller reported that dog jumped into his vehicle in vicinity of Long St./49th Ave. Officer responded. Dog was not chipped and it was determined that caller would return it to area in which it was found.

9:44 a.m. – Kayda McCarda, 45, of Edgin, cited for failure to carry proof of insurance, 800 block W. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

10:06 a.m. – Caller reported male attempted to break into her vehicle in 1400 block 24th Ave. Officer responded, located male, who was counseled regarding his actions. 

10:09 a.m. – Multiple callers reported male jumping in front of cars, yelling at passing cars in area of Main St./Clark Mill. Officer responded, contacted male, who agreed to stay off roadway. 

12:18 p.m. – Colton Holly, 30, of Sweet Home, cited for driving while suspended, 34700 block Hwy. 228, Brownsville. 

12:26 p.m. – Caller reported hearing shots in area of 15th Ave./Kalmia St.  Officer responded, located kids at high school who were revving engines on their vehicles, backfiring. Determined that was probably origin of the “shots.”

12:41 p.m. – Michael Clopton, 52, of Sweet Home, cited for driving without a license, 29100 block Hwy. 20. 

1:05 p.m. – Ryan Guenther, 38, of Aumsville, cited for failure to renew vehicle registration, 800 block W. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

1:43 p.m. – Oregon State Police reported firearm denial, 1900 block Main St. Officer responded, investigation continuing. 

2:56 p.m. – Caller reported tags stolen off her vehicle. 1300 block Clark Mill Rd. 

5:51 p.m. – Denise Rochelle Burrow, 58, arrested at Sweet Home Police Station, 1950 Main St., on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in trespass case. Cited and released. 

Feb. 24

12:16 a.m. – Taylor Epps, 26, of Sweet Home, arrested on warrants, transported to Linn County Jail. 27800 block Fern Ridge Rd. Report taken. 

3:19 a.m. – Caller reported bicycle stolen from Sun Motel in 3000 block Main St. Officer responded. Report taken for second-degree theft. Estimated value $350. 

8:23 a.m. – Caller reported individuals drove through police tape at location in 1100 block 38th Ave. Officer responded, found individuals who supposedly bought trailer from male who had lived at location. They were planning to take trailer and leave. Warned for trespass. 

9:21 a.m. – Robert Loren Howell, 44, of Cottage Grove, cited for speeding, 55/35, Main St./Depot Ave., Brownsville. 

10:03 a.m. – Amanda Grace Howser, 50, of Sweet Home, cited for driving uninsured and speeding, 52/35, 300 block E. Bishop Way, Brownsville. 

10:16 a.m. – Caller reported custom-built trailer stolen from 600 block W. 2nd St., Halsey. Ten-foot-long teardrop aluminum trailer with triangle windows was taken from the side of the house while the owner was gone. Valued at $7,000.  Report taken. 

11:27 a.m.  – Wires reported down in area of 12th Ave./Ironwood. Officer responded and noticed two residences with doors blown open by high winds. Buildings were cleared and secured as much as possible. 

11:28 a.m. – Tree limbs reported down in area of Long St./22nd Ave. 

11:35 a.m. – Tree fire reported in 1600 block 9th Ave. 

11:40 a.m. – Officer spotted downed wire in area of Main St./Clark Mill Rd. Pacific Power advised. 

11:46 a.m. – Officer located downed tree in 1600 block 11th Ave.  Hazard removed. 

11:54 a.m. – Caller reported downed trees and branches on roadway in 4100 and 4200 blocks Long St. City Public Works advised. 

1:36 p.m. – Caller reported her vehicle had been hit during previous night, 1200 block 1st Ave. Silver 2010 Hyundai Sonata was found with damage to the rear bumper, including a large crack and blue paint transfer. The owner had parked it outside her residence, and the damage was discovered later. No surveillance footage was available. Officer responded, report taken for hit-and-run. Damage over $2,500. 

3:40 p.m. – County Road Dept. cleared trees after report of trees blocking road, Liberty/Dew roads. 

3:50 p.m. – Zackory Ryan Ammon, 25, of Sweet Home, cited for failing to yield at stoplight, driving uninsured, 900 block Main St. 

3:53 p.m. – Caller reported he had met a female on a dating app and had that day received three calls from unknown person threatening to report him for sex offenses. Officer responded, advised caller of options. Location undisclosed. 

3:38 p.m. – Caller reported downed tree on roadway on Wiley Creek Dr. near Main St. Officer responded to find citizen had removed tree. Public Works to clear remaining debris. 

4:05 p.m. – Caller reported tent set up on side of building in 1200 block 15th Ave. Requested that occupants be trespassed. Officer responded, trespassed male from location. 

4:12 p.m. – Caller reported missing money from resident of Wiley Creek Community, 5050 Mountain Fir St. Officer responded. Report taken. 

5:25 p.m. – Caller reported small carport tent blew away, landed on trailer in Tamarack Ridge Estates mobile home park, 1500 block Tamarack St. Officer responded but tent was out of reach, so no immediate action taken. 

6:38 p.m. – Officer responded to audible alarm sounding in 1400 block 18th Ave. Contacted occupant, who was dealing with faulty fire alarm resulting from power outages. 

8:49 p.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez, 49, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear in two criminal trespass cases and one assault case, and Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear in resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and criminal mischief cases. Cited and released. 1700 block Main St.
