Firefighters battle a blaze that severely damaged a home on Surrey Lane, off Ames Creek Road, early Tuesday afternoon, May 6. According to Fire Chief Nick Tyler, the fire was started when the homeowner used a propane weed burner near the house and “inadvertently” ignited the side of the building.
