Charlotte Bashaw

Charlotte “Charly” Ellen Bashaw, 81, of Sweet Home, passed away Oct. 28, 2025.
She was born March 8, 1944 to Esther Louise (Carle) and Charles Earl Anglin in Champaign, Ill.
Charly was a 20-year active member of Sweet Home Elks Lodge #1972, where she held several positions, from Exalted Ruler (2017-18) to secretary. She was serving as secretary of the Elkettes at the time of her death.
She loved the activities the Elks offered but enjoyed playing Texas Hold ’Em the most. Charly was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and great-grandma; she peacefully passed with loved ones by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Al Bashaw of Sweet Home; children Toni Simpson of Prairie Farms, Wisc., Cathy Trojan of Bertrum, Texas, Tony Bashaw, Tim (Darlene) Bashaw of Meridian, Idaho, and Todd (Kendra) Bashaw, also of Meridian; sisters Shirley Sandstrom of Steelville, Mo. and Carol Farley of Sweet Home; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charly was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Esther Anglin; and daughter Elizabeth Trojan Jackson.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge.
